First things first: a few weeks ago, I heard a rustling in the leaves on the ground in the backyard..upon further investigation I found this!
The very first LIVE cicada nymph I have ever seen. It was seriously like finding the Holy Grail for me. I named him Dumpy and let him go. The next morning I found his molted carapace, so in a way, I still have him. RADNESS!
Next I went to Chicago for an art show, but I'm not really going to talk about it, because it was BY FAR the least awesome thing that happened this past weekend.

I got to go to the Field Museum again, which might be one of my favorite places in the world.
They have every animal I wanted to see, ever, sadly dead, but for science! Behold the Bintarong, NEED!
For the little girl who asked her dad what this animal was: It's an Echidna, one of only two egg laying mammals called Monotremes. **snort**
Monkeys done got teeth too.
Mandi Spayd collaborated with me on this (and another carelessly handled and now damaged) sculpture. I have to thank her and her husband for keeping me from unleashing Gamma rays.
Who's that dude with the beard? Oh, hey, it's my little brother-in-law, Anthony! I've known him since he was four, he can't have a better beard than me.
