Oh yes, there's been some quality crittering going down here in the midwest...let's have a look shall we?
I can't take credit for this one. My pal Mandi spotted him from 150 feet away.
This guy was really patient for me while I figured out how to use my camera.
This adult Cicada just about had it for his lifespan. Things are getting quiet while they drop out of the trees.
Frawg.
Crawdad.
Dad, with Crawdad.

These guys were hanging out in the stream under some rocks. I was pretty stoked just to find a larval salamander (the equivalent of a tadpole to a frog) but then...
...Chloe picked up a rock on shore and found this! Adult Two-lined Salamander. these dudes were everywhere once we knew where to look. SCORE!
Worm Moustache.
More salamander action.
Yeah, this was my face before the 1.5 mile hike uphill. I had 60lbs of Ben on my shoulders for most of the hike.
Hung out at my Buddy Steve Brown's house. Steve own a kickass shop on the East-Side of Cleveland called SHOPAROONI. Steve is a human monkey.
His Sharpei couldn't be any less of a dog. So rad.
His Great Dane eats kids, whole. Notice the shoe.
I haven't found a Mantis since I was a kid, almost stepped on this one.
Frawg Part 2: The Revenge.
HOLYOHMYGODLOOKATHOWFUCKINGBIGTHATSPIDERIS!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome pics...I love the outdoors! Thanks for sharing, and that worm moopstaph is great...sounds to me like a good idea for a painting ;-)
I want to come live with you and look for bugs.
That spider was seriously the most frightening thing I have seen in a long time. Reminds me of the banana spiders in Florida.
These pictures are phenomenal. Where do you find all these critters and get them to pose for such fine photos?
I still can't get over that spider. I want to go visit her every day. Well, at least until she decides that day is the day she's going to eat me whole.
wow! nice photos and fenomenal site!!
Dude, your bugs kick ass! Also, congrats on the t-shirt sellout! You're a bad-ass Mr. Ryniak...
We had a mantis on our front porch night before last... ooh, and a tarantula in our backyard! But oh, what I'd give for frogs in my yard!!!
Great pics!
Chris, I would have pooped myself if I had run into that spider in person....seriously..for real.
