Donuts to Go nuts

Let's look at a run-down of my trip to Seattle, shall we? sure.

The approach, gray and rainy.

As cliche' as it may sound, Seattle really IS the place for coffee shops.

Robert Hardgrave was more than awesome enough to let me stay with him for the weekend. I don't think I've ever been so comfortable staying with someone I had only just met in person that day. Bob took me to his studio, which is wrought with hundreds of paintings and studies. It seriously made me feel like I was slacking off, which was good, I needed some inspiration.

Starting with this pizza, the ongoing theme of the trip was to be food.

This is Bob's dog. bob's dog loves you, there is no escaping it, embrace it.

The opening was pretty full most of the night, it was a really strong group of work, I was honored to be associated with it.

Yeah, it's like that.

Ran into Heavy metal super hero, Martin Ontiveros. We talked of Dadhood.

Travis Louie kills it. His stuff is INSANE in person. Buy one if you have the means.

Ran into my old pal Yumiko Kayukawa. I forgot that she lived in Seattle, because I'm a dummy.

UFO.

Guard Bison.

Robert's wife , Stephanie, is a pastry chef.

She makes pretty, tasty things to put in your belly.

No donut would be complete without some Bob.

Robert had stuff to do that day, so he dumped me off in the city to wander for 7 hours. I sought out the nearest place with dead fish first.

The library was rad.

Chinatown was rad.

This Richard Serra sculpture felt right at home in the Pacific Northwest...

This Gehry building did not, but it's still a really interesting piece of architecture.

Yes, Starbucks used to have boobs, that was when it was better. Lighten up America.

Jen Stark was having a show at OK OK. Her stuff is mesmerizing, she does amazing things with construction paper.

Sprinkle some Bob on those noodles, thanks. Best Chinese food I've ever had.

This old building in Georgetown got worked.

Hey, didn't know this was here.

A vegan donut shop. It's sort of a contradiction in terms, but, HOORAY!

Bob makes donuts taste better. Actually, I couldn't remember the last time I had a donut before this trip, I have to take a break from them now, my stomach hurts.

Overall Seattle was the cleanest big city I've ever seen, full of awesome food, coffee and yes, donuts. I want to go back in the summer and look for bigfoot. Thanks again to Farmerbob and his wife for being super-rad.
